Venezuela parliament chief: will sue in U.S., Spain over drugs reporting

Venezuela's National Assembly President Cabello drives car during rally to commemorate 23rd anniversary of 1992 coup attempt led by former President Chavez, in CaracasVenezuelan parliament chief Diosdado Cabello said in an interview on Sunday that he plans to file lawsuits in Spain and the United States following media reports that link him and other top officials to cocaine trafficking and money laundering. The Wall Street Journal two weeks ago reported that U.S. federal prosecutors were gathering evidence from former cocaine traffickers and military defectors as part of an investigation into Cabello, No. 2 of the ruling Socialist Party. Spanish newspaper ABC in January published a story alleging Cabello's former security chief had fled for the United States with evidence that Cabello was involved in the drug trade.

GE launches bidding process for U.S. lending operation: WSJ

The General Electric logo is seen in a Sears store in SchaumburgGeneral Electric Co launched the bidding process for a $40 billion portion of its U.S. commercial lending business, a critical step in its effort to avert regulation by the U.S. Federal Reserve, the Wall Street Journal said on its website on Sunday. The chunk of the operation represents more than half of the $74 billion U.S. commercial lending and leasing portfolio that includes loans for equipment purchases and financing and leases for midsize firms. The business units could all go to a single buyer or could be divided and sold separately, the Wall Street Journal said.

Wall Street analysts forecast the Burbank, California-based entertainment and media company will grow its earnings per share by 16 percent this year to $5.03 and 13 percent next year to $5.67. This put Disney's stock price at 18 times earnings, the financial weekly said.

Greece continues talks on aid, deal unlikely on Sunday: sources

Greek flag flies behind a statue to European unity outside the EU Parliament in BrusselsAthens and its euro zone and International Monetary Fund (IMF) creditors have been locked in talks for months without luck on a deal. Pressure to strike one has intensified as Athens faces a debt payment on June 5 as well as the expiration of its bailout program on June 30. The government said this week it was looking for a deal by Sunday, but sources close to the talks at the so-called Brussels Group of EU/IMF creditors said that was unlikely.
